Entry-Level Electronics Engineer

Location: Washington DC Area

Overview

Join our growing team of talented engineers building revolutionary imaging and material detection systems. We are looking for an Analog and Radio Frequency Electronics Engineer to help us build products for a variety of commercial and government applications. This is an in-person job only and we’re a startup. We’re looking for builders who will show up in person and are willing to get their hands dirty. If you’ve built physical things and have experience with modeling, design, integration, and testing, then we would like to speak with you.

What we are looking for

  • Associate’s, Technical, or BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related technical field
  • 0-3 years’ experience designing and building analog, digital, and/or instrumentation circuits
  • SMD soldering and basic electronics bench skills
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Desire to be part of a dynamic team and willingness to challenge and be challenged by others
  • Commitment to growth and learning
  • Must be eligible to work in the US and willing to work in person at our Tysons Corner VA office

Other attributes of the ideal candidate

  • Identifies more with HF than 5G
  • Proficient with Altium, KiCad or similar schematic capture and PCB design tools
  • Familiar with computational electrodynamic tools such as HFSS or CST
  • Familiar with SolidWorks or similar mechanical design tools
  • Comfortable with light software coding or scripting

The Company

Spectrohm is a startup building high-speed, scalable inspection solutions for bags and packages using patented radio wave technology. Our products help governments, venues, and eCommerce detect threats, enforce tariffs, and prevent fraud—faster, and at a lower cost than traditional methods. We are currently developing systems for security and inspection applications that will make the world safer by detecting threats and contraband at high speed and in more places without the cost, radiation and overhead of X-ray.

Salary Range

$65,000 – $85,000 depending on qualifications and experience
